Jesus resisted the temptations of the devil, and for that the devil fled from Jesus, as Matthew wrote,

Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him (Matthew 4.11).

Jesus caused the devil to leave by quoting Scripture, not merely as a “good luck” charm; no, Jesus believed what He quoted and He lived by what He quoted.

Do not hesitate to use Scripture when tempted, for if you believe what you quote and seek to live by it, the devil will flee from you, although only for a while, but you will get relief.
