The Pharisees condemned the disciples of Jesus, but He refuted the Pharisees and stood up for His disciples. Part of His rebuke against the Pharisees, included this,

“But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless” (Matthew 12.7).

Sometimes we get caught up in controversial issues, or our favorite doctrines, or whatever, and we miss the greater picture of the meaning of God’s word.

Friends, focus upon the word of God and not what your family and friends say it means, but learn for yourself.
