If a businessman sold everything that he owned to buy something that was worth more than all his possessions, do you think he would have done a wise thing? He temporarily lost everything, but then gained much more. He made a wise choice.

Gaining the kingdom of heaven is just like that businessman. It is worth more than everything we own, as Jesus taught,

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it” (Matthew 13.45–46).
