If the rich are rarely saved, then who can be? Most people think of wealth as a sign of God’s favor. Thus, for Jesus to say that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven, shocked the disciples,
When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19.25–26).
If God can create the heavens and the Earth by simply speaking them into existence, then He can get a rich man into heaven.
