Picture the motions that Aaron, as high priest, performed in what the Lord called the wave offering and the heave offering,
“Then you shall take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s consecration and wave it as a wave offering before the Lord; and it shall be your portion. And from the ram of the consecration you shall consecrate the breast of the wave offering which is waved, and the thigh of the heave offering which is raised, of that which is for Aaron and of that which is for his sons. It shall be from the children of Israel for Aaron and his sons by a statute forever. For it is a heave offering; it shall be a heave offering from the children of Israel from the sacrifices of their peace offerings, that is, their heave offering to the Lord (Exodus 29.26–28).
How do you move your arm and hand, if you are waving something in front of you? How do you move your arm and hand, if you are heaving something in front of you? Do the motions. Do them again. Do you see what you just formed? You formed a cross.
The wave offering came from the breast, where the arms are attached, and the heave offering came from the thigh, or leg. Moreover, the children of Israel presented this sacrifice for this cross-like action, and it provided peace.
Do you see any parallels with Jesus of Nazareth?
