James and John wanted Jesus to grant them special positions in His kingdom, and they made this request right in front of the other disciples, and as you can imagine, they were not happy,

And when the ten heard it, they began to be greatly displeased with James and John (Mark 10.41).

Jesus then solved the problem easily, but let this be a reminder that sometimes Christians are not happy with one another, and that is no reason for turning away from Christ, but it is reason for us to act as He did and find a solution.
