Once the father of John the Baptist could finally speak, he praised God in a magnificent doxology,
“Blessed is the Lord God of Israel,
For He has visited and redeemed His people,
And has raised up a horn of salvation for us
In the house of His servant David”
(Luke 1.68–69)
For centuries Israel had waited for the Redeemer, and with the birth of John the Baptist, who would be the forerunner of the Redeemer, that time had finally arrived, but it arrived not only for Israel, it also arrived for the world.
Have you thanked and praised God for sending the Redeemer that you might be saved?
