The determination of the Canaanites outdid the determination of Manasseh

The Lord promised the Land of Canaan to the Israelites, yet, the tribes as a whole did not rid the land of the Canaanites, which became a snare to Israel, as the Canaanites influenced the Israelites to follow idols. Israel should have wiped out the Canaanites, having faith in the Lord that He would enable them to do so, because He wanted Israel to do it.

After the Bible details the border of the tribe of Manasseh and its inheritance, the Bible says,

Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities, but the Canaanites were determined to dwell in that land. And it happened, when the children of Israel grew strong, that they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but did not utterly drive them out (Joshua 17.7–13).

The Israelites may have been smaller than the Canaanites, but the Israelites had the God of heaven on their side. Therefore, Israel was on the majority side, they were on the winning side. If God is for you, the victory has already been determined. However, you have to be for God, and you have to believe that He is for you.
