A Pharisee criticized Jesus for allowing a sinner woman to touch Him, but then He questioned the Pharisee, asking him who would love a forgiving creditor more, the one with the greater debt or the one with the lessor debt,
Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have rightly judged” (Luke 7.43).
If Jesus has forgiven you of your sins, how much do you love Him? It will depend upon just how aware you are, or were, of your sins that He forgave. True, even one minor sin, as we might see it, is truly a major thing in the eyes of God, but if we only see it as a minor thing, then our love toward Him will be minor.
However, if you recognize your sin for what it is, a serious violation of the will of God, and worthy of death, you will love Him greatly for the love He has toward you.
