Do you value your things more than people?

A ruler of a synagogue criticized Jesus because He healed a woman on the Sabbath, saying that people could be healed on the other six days of the week,

The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” (Luke 13.15–16).

The Jewish leaders cared more for their animals than for a woman bound by Satan for eighteen years! Also, this particular leader could not rejoice that heaven worked in this woman’s life to raise her up from her spirit of infirmity that had her bent over for almost two decades.

It was all because of their faulty interpretation of the Sabbath, and what could and could not be done on that day.

Watch out for how you interpret the Scriptures!
