Do not look back

As Jesus spoke of His return, He taught that we should ready ourselves for that event, not looking back,

“In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it” (Luke 17.31–33).

Lot’s wife looked back at the life she was leaving, and paid a dear price for it when the Lord turned her into a pillar of salt.

Likewise, Jesus warned that if we try to save our lives, we will lose them, but if we lose our lives for His sake, we will truly preserve our lives.
