04.26.2014 New Testament: Luke 20.44
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 20.27–47 on April 26, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
Jesus quoted Psalm 110.1, written by David about the Christ, yet, few understood how Christ was related to David. In Psalm 110, David referred to the Christ as his Lord, and after quoting that, Jesus questioned the scribes,
“Therefore David calls Him ‘Lord’; how is He then his Son?” (Luke 20.44).
How can the Christ be both David’s Lord and David’s son? The Christ was born of the lineage of David, but the Christ existed before David, because the Christ is the Lord. What a magnificent truth that the Lord would make Himself a son of man!
