Jesus taught the twelve disciples repeatedly how the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms had fulfillment in Him, but they had a hard time understanding just what He meant. Then Luke wrote,

And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures (Luke 24.45).

Afterward, they went out into the world and taught what they understood of the Scriptures and how Jesus fulfilled the prophecies. Praise God that Jesus did this for them, because now we can see His connection to the Old Testament, and how the Old and New Testaments are connected with one another. Let no one sever them.
