05.07.2014 New Testament: John 1.12–13
To read the Bible in a year, read John 1.1–28 on May 7, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
John began His account of the Good News of Jesus, the Son of God, by declaring that He is God. That being true, John also declared,
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1.12–13).
If you receive Jesus, you have the right, you have become qualified to become a child of God. John shows that you receive Jesus by believing in His name. You can then be born of God, which John will show Jesus explaining some more in John 3.
