05.20.2014 New Testament: John 7.45–49
To read the Bible in a year, read John 7.32–53 on May 20, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
The Jewish leaders sent officers to arrest Jesus, but after listening to Him teach, they could not. They reported back to the leaders,
Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, “Why have you not brought Him?” The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” Then the Pharisees answered them, “Are you also deceived? Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him? But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed” (John 7.45–49).
Amazingly, these chief priests and Pharisees had it backward. They did not know the Law as they thought they knew it, and the crowd knew Jesus who authored the Law!
Know Jesus and you will know the Scriptures. If you do not know Jesus, you will not know the Scriptures.
