Levi had sinned against his father. Therefore, the Lord spread the tribe of Levi throughout the Land of Canaan, so that they could not call any particular region their own. Part of First Chronicles 6 shows the various places where they lived,

To the rest of the family of the tribe of the Kohathites they gave by lot ten cities from half the tribe of Manasseh. And to the sons of Gershon, throughout their families, they gave thirteen cities from the tribe of Issachar, from the tribe of Asher, from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan. To the sons of Merari, throughout their families, they gave twelve cities from the tribe of Reuben, from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun. So the children of Israel gave these cities with their common-lands to the Levites. And they gave by lot from the tribe of the children of Judah, from the tribe of the children of Simeon, and from the tribe of the children of Benjamin these cities which are called by their names (1 Chronicles 6.61–65).

Christians are now the priests of the Lord, as the Levites once were, and the Lord has spread Christians throughout the world, so that we cannot call any region on Earth, the Christian region, but like the levitical priests we exist to serve the rest of humanity, primarily by teaching, and by any good works that need to be done.
