05.24.2014 New Testament: John 9.10–12
To read the Bible in a year, read John 9.1–23 on May 24, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
Jesus gave sight to a man born blind, and then Jesus left the man. People noticed the formerly blind man with sight, and they wanted to know how he received his sight,
Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?” He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.” Then they said to him, “Where is He?” He said, “I do not know” (John 9.10–12).
This man’s honesty makes me chuckle, because as you read the story, you will discover that he said plainly what happened, yet, no one seemed to believe him.
He simply said that a man named Jesus told him to go wash in the pool of Siloam, after having put clay on the man’s eyes. Then the man said plainly and with brevity, I went, I washed, and I received sight.
Yet, the man did not know where Jesus was. He did not even know who Jesus was, just His name, that is all. However, it was enough to give the man what he wanted.
