Sometimes we do not know what the Lord meant

06.03.2014 New Testament: John 13.28–30

To read the Bible in a year, read John 13.18–38 on June 3, In the year of our Lord 2014

How many times have you read the Bible, but did not know what the Lord meant? I am sure I lost count during the first year I was a Christian. Perhaps this will make you feel better; the disciples did not always know what He meant, and they were right there with Him, such as the time that Satan entered the heart of Judas, and Jesus told him that what he was about to do, to do it quickly,

But no one at the table knew for what reason He said this to him. For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus had said to him, “Buy those things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor. Having received the piece of bread, he then went out immediately. And it was night (John 13.28–30).

Later, they understood what had happened, but at the time, they did not. However, Jesus was in control, and He knew what He meant, and He knew what would happen. So it is with us, we may not always know what He means, but even as He was in control on that night, so He is in control right now. Just read His word, be thankful that He died for you, and leave the running of the universe to Him.
