06.04.2014 Old Testament: 2Ch 13.13–15
To read the Bible in a year, read Second Chronicles 13–16 on June 4, In the year of our Lord 2014

King Jeroboam of Israel confronted King Abijah of Judah with a massive army, and Jeroboam used superior tactics to surround the army of Judah,
But Jeroboam caused an ambush to go around behind them; so they were in front of Judah, and the ambush was behind them. And when Judah looked around, to their surprise the battle line was at both front and rear; and they cried out to the Lord, and the priests sounded the trumpets. Then the men of Judah gave a shout; and as the men of Judah shouted, it happened that God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah (2 Chronicles 13.13–15).
Judah trusted in the Lord, not in their military tactics. Therefore, the Lord heard their cry and delivered them from the much greater army of Jeroboam (He had an army of 800,000 fighting Abijah’s army of 400,000).
The Holy Spirit put this incident in the Bible that you and I might learn that when we are in trouble, surrounded by something much greater than ourselves, we can call upon the Lord and He will hear our cry.
