06.04.2014 New Testament: John 14.12–14
To read the Bible in a year, read John 14 on June 4, In the year of our Lord 2014

During His last night on Earth before His death, Jesus gave His disciples instructions that they used to change the world, and to bring salvation to unknown numbers of people, and this fascinating promise from Jesus,
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14.12–14).
The only way any human can do greater works than Jesus Christ, of which I am aware, is in quantity, not in quality. He raised people from the dead and He died for the sins of the world. How can we surpass those things? However, He did not go into all the world, bringing the Good News of salvation to all the world’s population, and that is something that we can do, and has been done since the first century.
However, to do greater works than Jesus, we have to heed what He said in this passage, asking in prayer the things that we need to get the job done, and Jesus promised that He would fulfill those prayers.
