People who stand to do what needs to be done

06.09.2014 Old Testament: 2Ch 29.12–14

To read the Bible in a year, read Second Chronicles 29–31 on June 9, In the year of our Lord 2014

By Don Ruhl

Hezekiah became king of Judah when he was 25 years old, and during that first year he spoke to the priests and the Levites, because they had neglected the temple of the Lord, and the king explained to them the problems of the past, how the neglect hurt Judah, and what they needed to do. Then the Bible says,

Then these Levites arose… (2 Chronicles 29.12–14).

It did not offend them that a young man told them what they needed to do, because they knew that he spoke the truth. Therefore, they arose to do what needed to be done.
