06.09.2014 New Testament: John 18.12–14
To read the Bible in a year, read John 18.1–23 on June 9, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
After Judas revealed Jesus to the Jewish officers, and after Peter cut off the ear of the servant of the high priest, John said this happened,
Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him. And they led Him away to Annas first, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas who was high priest that year. Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was expedient that one man should die for the people (John 18.12–14).
Picture that for a moment. Men arrested Jesus. Men bound the Son of Man. Men led the Son of God away. Can you see yourself doing something like that? Yet, what do we do when we sin?
