Speaking with great power

Acts Wide

06.20.2014 New Testament: Acts 4.33

To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 4.23–37 on June 20, In the year of our Lord 2014

By Don Ruhl

The Jewish authorities commanded the apostles to cease teaching in the name of Jesus, but the apostles went to the church, reported the threats of the authorities, and then prayed for boldness in speaking the Lord’s word. He answered their prayer,

And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all (Acts 4.33).

They asked the Lord to do His part, then they did their part. Such a combination gave the preachers great power, and the world has never been the same since. What will happen if you ask the Lord for boldness and you do you part in living, working, and speaking boldly?
