06.29.2014 Old Testament: Job 16.10–11
To read the Bible in a year, read Job 16–18 on June 29, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
Not only did Satan take things away from Job, but Satan managed to get people to turn against Job, and so he cried out,
“They gape at me with their mouth,
They strike me reproachfully on the cheek,
They gather together against me.
God has delivered me to the ungodly,
And turned me over to the hands of the wicked.”
(Job 16.10–11)
Anguish filled the heart of Job, and it came out in his words. He did not understand why these things were happening to him, leading him to cry out about how people persecuted him.
Why can’t you do the same? Cry out to God, and to anyone who may hear, how the ungodly have gone after you. Perhaps someone will hear and help you.
