Do not contradict God

Acts Wide

07.03.2014 New Testament: Acts 11.9–10

To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 11 on July 3, In the year of our Lord 2014

I know that you did not ask for my advice, but there are several things that I advise you not to do. One of them is: Do not contradict God. You will not win. Peter tried to contradict Him, but the apostle learned that God wins every time,

“But the voice answered me again from heaven, ‘What God has cleansed you must not call common.’ Now this was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven” (Acts 11.9–10).

God showed patience toward Peter, three times telling him not to call common or unclean what God had declared clean. Peter then learned to preach to all people and not just to Jews. Let us learn the same thing, that God accepts all people, even as He has accepted you.
