07.06.2014 New Testament: Acts 13.29–31
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 13.24–52 on July 6, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
Paul spoke in a synagogue, preaching to the people that Jesus is the Christ, showing how He fulfilled the prophecies, and when Paul started to speak on the resurrection of Jesus, the apostle said,
“Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb. But God raised Him from the dead. He was seen for many days by those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people” (Acts 13.29–31).
That last sentence says a great deal. For many days, not just a quick glance one day, but for an extended period of time, those who followed Jesus during all His ministry, especially as He went from Galilee to Jerusalem, saw Him and witnessed to the people that Jesus had risen from the dead. Therefore, Jesus is the Son of God.
