07.10.2014 Old Testament: Psa 2.8–9
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 1–3 on July 10, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
Psalm 2 prophesied of the alliance of the nations against the Anointed of God, whom we know as the Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, but Psalm 2 also prophesied of the Anointed’s victory over His enemies, and for that the Father made this promise to Him,
“Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
(Psalm 2.8–9)
History shows the fulfillment of Psalm 2, for the nations conspired against Him (Psalm 2.1–3), and crucified Him, but He rose from the dead, and He has inherited the nations, making them part of His kingdom at the present time (Revelation 2.26–27; 15.11).
Be sure that you are in His kingdom so that He will not break you, as this Psalm prophesies, but that He will accept you.
