07.11.2014 Old Testament: Psa 5.1–3
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 4–6 on July 11, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
God loves you, but He wants to hear and to see your love for Him. Therefore, in prayer tell Him of your devotion to Him through prayer, as the psalmist did,
Give ear to my words, O Lord,
Consider my meditation.
Give heed to the voice of my cry,
My King and my God,
For to You I will pray.
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up.
(Psa 5.1–3)
David pleaded for the Lord to hear, and that He would consider David’s meditation, because the Lord was David’s King and God, and David referred to the Lord in those ways. In the fifth line, David came out and said that to the Lord he would pray, and then David continued to show his devotion in prayer by promising that the Lord would hear his prayer in the morning.
David wanted the Lord to know that he based his day on the Lord. Do you think that way? If so, tell the Lord.
