David had asked the Lord for mercy, because he was in trouble, so much so that his eye wasted away with grief from the endless pouring out of tears, as his enemies reproached him, slandered him, and sought his life (Psalm 31.9–13).

However, David knew that his life was in the hand of God and so in God, David would trust. Let the following prayer of his, be your prayer,

But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.
Make Your face shine upon Your servant;
Save me for Your mercies’ sake.
Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon You;
Let the wicked be ashamed;
Let them be silent in the grave.
Let the lying lips be put to silence,
Which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
(Psalm 31.14–18) 

Do you hear David pouring out his soul to the Lord? Why can you not also pray in such a manner? It is not only for biblical characters to cry out to God; it is for you also. Do it! Then you shall have seasons of refreshing from Him, and you shall have Spring in your soul.
