07.28.2014 New Testament: Acts 27.39–40
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 27.26–44 on July 28, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
Paul served God most high, possessor of heaven and Earth, yet that did not mean Paul had an easy life and that God kept the apostle from all troubles. No, as you read Acts 27, you will discover his perilous journey to Rome as a prisoner on a ship during a storm. It got so bad, that they figured they could only survive by purposely shipwrecking on a beach,
When it was day, they did not recognize the land; but they observed a bay with a beach, onto which they planned to run the ship if possible. And they let go the anchors and left them in the sea, meanwhile loosing the rudder ropes; and they hoisted the mainsail to the wind and made for shore (Acts 27.39–40).
How would you like to have been on that ship? I do like excitement and even danger from time to time, but not like that! However, through it all, the Lord was with Paul, even as the Lord is with you through all the turmoils of your life.
