Can God Ever Do Enough?

Psalms Bible Background

08.06.2014 Old Testament: Psa 78.17–20

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalm 78 on August 6, In the year of our Lord 2014

By Don Ruhl

For some people, regardless of how much God does, it is never enough. Asaph reminds us of the Israelites in the wilderness,

But they sinned even more against Him
By rebelling against the Most High in the wilderness.
And they tested God in their heart
By asking for the food of their fancy.
Yes, they spoke against God:
They said, ‘Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?
Behold, He struck the rock,
So that the waters gushed out,
And the streams overflowed.
Can He give bread also?
Can He provide meat for His people?
(Psalm 78.17–20).

See their attitude: Just because He can do one thing, does not mean He can do another in their minds. Clearly they did not know Him, nor His ability. Rather than challenging Him, we should be grateful for what He has done.
