Paul argued,

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His (Romans 8.9). 

We do not live according to the flesh, because we are in the Spirit, and the Spirit is in us, but if we do not have the Spirit, then we do not belong to Jesus.

You have the Spirit, if you have repented of your sins, and been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2.38).
