The staccato of a Christian

Romans Bible Background

08.13.2014 New Testament: Rom 12.11–13

To read the Bible in a year, read Romans 12 on August 13, In the year of our Lord 2014

By Don Ruhl

After Paul taught us how we should treat one another, showing kindness, brotherly love, and preference for one another, he then let loose a short burst, delivered in staccato fashion, that shows the character of a disciple of Christ, saying,

not lagging in diligence,
fervent in spirit,
serving the Lord;
rejoicing in hope,
patient in tribulation,
continuing steadfastly in prayer;
distributing to the needs of the saints,
given to hospitality.
(Romans 12.11–13).

He used his spiritual machine gun to fire spiritual bullets at a target that glorifies God. Look over your life and see whether those things picture you.
