Unfortunately, many Christians do not believe the Old Testament is of any value to them, and that none of it applies to us. However, the Holy Spirit said,

Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come (1 Corinthians 10.11). 

What we read in the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit intended as our examples. We read the Old Testament to learn what we should not do, and what we should do. Now, get busy and start reading the Old Testament!
