09.01.2014 New Testament: 1Co 11.23–24
To read the Bible in a year, read First Corinthians 11.17–34 on September 1, In the year of our Lord 2014

We want to be remembered, and the Lord also wants His disciples to remember Him, especially that He gave His natural body for us, but He did not require a monument of stone,
For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me” (1 Corinthians 11.23–24).
Knowing of His betrayal, Jesus spoke of the sacrifice He would make the next day, that He would give His body for us. He wants us to eat unleaven bread to remember that He gave His body. This next Lord’s Day, think about His body when you eat the bread, remembering why He died for you.
