We consider it honorable for warriors to sacrifice and serve gladly for their nation, but in other parts of life, we almost seem to think it is ridiculous to live that way. However, the church changed the world forever, starting in the first century in the Roman empire by having the following attitude,
Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. For the same reason you also be glad and rejoice with me (Philippians 2.17–18).
Paul lived to be a drink offering to the Lord as he sacrificed for and served the brethren, helping them to have faith and to grow in that faith. He was glad and rejoiced to so live, and he wanted them to be glad and to rejoice with him.
Therefore, it is honorable to live and to die for the church and for your brethren that they might have faith. Do whatever you can to increase the faith of others, and you shall make your life a drink offering to the Lord.
