When any world leader arrives at a place, many preparations were made ahead of time. People have to be readied to receive the leader. The same holds true with the Lord of heaven and Earth,

The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
“Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make straight in the desert
A highway for our God.
Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough places smooth;
The glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
And all flesh shall see it together;
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
(Isaiah 40.3–5)

The one who prepared the way for this magnificent Lord was John the baptist, who prepared people by turning them from their sins. He humbled the lofty, and raised the humble. What have you done to receive the Lord?
