11.12.2014 New Testament: Heb 9.13–14
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 9 on November 12, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
As you know, the priests under the Law of Moses entered into the temple with the blood of animals, and although that blood did not remedy man’s problem, the blood did do some good, but when Jesus entered the heavenly temple, He entered with His blood and did much more for us,
For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9.13–14).
Notice that the blood of bulls, goats, as well as the ashes of a heifer, did purify the flesh, but also see that Jesus, who far exceeds animals in value, offered Himself and by His blood He cleansed our conscience! Thank God for the work of Christ.
