11.13.2014 New Testament: Heb 10.11–13
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 10.1–23 on November 13, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
How many priests served during the 1500 years of the Law of Moses, and how many sacrifices did they offer? The numbers would stagger the imagination. Under the Law of Christ how many high priests have served and how many sacrifices have been offered?
And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man [Jesus], after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool (Heb 10.11–13).
We have only had one High Priest, and He only offered one sacrifice, although the Law of Christ has been in effect for 500 years longer than the Law of Moses. And it shall forever be only one priest with one sacrifice. His one sacrifice shall continue to do its job until He returns, and He will return when all His enemies have become His footstool.
