11.14.2014 Old Testament: Eze 7.20–22
To read the Bible in a year, read Ezekiel 7–9 on November 14, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
The Lord gave Israel wonderful things, things that He gave for their beauty and majesty, but Israel used those things for abominations. Therefore, listen to what He said He would do,
“As for the beauty of his ornaments,
He set it in majesty;
But they made from it
The images of their abominations—
Their detestable things;
Therefore I have made it
Like refuse to them.
I will give it as plunder
Into the hands of strangers,
And to the wicked of the earth as spoil;
And they shall defile it.
I will turn My face from them,
And they will defile My secret place;
For robbers shall enter it and defile it.”
(Ezekiel 7.20–22)
He gave them beautiful ornaments, which they used to worship idols. He turned those ornaments into refuse, something just to throw away because they meant nothing to Him, and they would mean nothing to Israel when the Babylonians attacked.
What has the Lord given you? Are you using it for His glory?
