Straighten your paths

Hebrews Bible Background

11.17.2014 New Testament: Heb 12.12–13

To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 12 on November 17, In the year of our Lord 2014

By Don Ruhl

We can get so discouraged at times, yet, the truth is that we are often the ones who discourage ourselves. Listen to this passage carefully,

Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed (Hebrews 12.12–13).

Interestingly, the writer told us to make our paths straight for our feet, as though we are the ones who have made our paths crooked. Yet, is that not the case? Are we not often our own enemy?
