12.21.2014 Old Testament: Mic 7.1–2
To read the Bible in a year, read Micah 6–7 on December 21, In the year of our Lord 2014
By Don Ruhl
We have a tendency to think that our generation is the only one that experienced the shrinking numbers of God’s people, but listen to what Micah the prophet said,
Woe is me!
For I am like those who gather summer fruits,
Like those who glean vintage grapes;
There is no cluster to eat
Of the first-ripe fruit which my soul desires.
The faithful man has perished from the earth,
And there is no one upright among men.
They all lie in wait for blood;
Every man hunts his brother with a net.
(Micah 7.1–2)
Yet, things changed and eventually the children of Israel gave a magnificent gift to the world, the Savior who is Christ the Lord.
Therefore, let us not despair as though there is no hope, but let us keep our eyes focused on the Lord.
