Satan hates the church with a passion! Therefore, he does whatever he can and uses whomever he can to destroy the church, but the church always survives. Sometimes the source of help surprises us,

So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth (Revelation 12.15–16). 

The Earth stopped the persecution of the devil, but sometimes the people of the Earth side with Satan against the church. The latter is happening right now in Western Culture. Hang on. Things may get rough, but keep your faith in the Lord and you shall win.
