12.30.2014 New Testament: Rev 21.14
To read the Bible in a year, read Revelation 21 on December 30, In the year of our Lord 2014

Remember that in Revelation 21.9–21, we really do not have a picture of heaven, but of the church glorified in heaven, pictured as a city. Therefore, when we read about the wall of the city, we read about the wall of the church in her glorified state,
Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb (Revelation 21.14).
Once the apostles started preaching the Gospel, they endured every imaginable persecution. The Lord rewarded them magnificently by having their names written on the foundation! What a blessing that would be. Although I do not believe the apostles would glory in it, yet, to see your name on the foundation of this heavenly city would be a thrill. Truly, the Lord is good.
