Where is your heart?

Matthew Bible Background

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 6 on January 7, In the year of our Lord 2015

By Don Ruhl

Where does your heart dwell, or rather upon what does it dwell? If you do not know, think of where your treasure is, as Jesus taught,

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6.19–21).

What could you lose that would devastate your heart? If you could lose anything on the Earth and it destroy you, then look to see where you have laid up your treasure. If your treasure resides in heaven, then let peace and contentment fill your heart.
