Although Abraham and Sarah were great in age when the Lord promised them that they would have a son, He meant that they would have a son! Therefore, a year later, it happened, as Moses wrote,

And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had spoken (Genesis 21.1). 

Imagine someone doing precisely as he said he would do! The Lord of heaven and Earth operates in that very manner.

Therefore, what promises has He made to humanity? Whatever they are, even if they seem impossible, they are not impossible to Him, and He shall do just as He has spoken.
