To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 9.1–17 on January 10, In the year of our Lord 2015

Everything about Jesus goes against the way the world thinks. Does He go against the way you think? Consider what He did with the outcasts of society and a brief conversation He had with some people who objected,
Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick” (Matthew 9.10–12).
The Pharisees had a good question, although they asked it as a critique. However, why did He eat with tax collectors and sinners? They needed Him. He is the physician. They were sick. Does your physician only see healthy people?
Are you a Christian? If so, does that not mean that you live, think, and speak as He did? Would you eat with people whom your culture despises?

God bless you!
