Sometimes we would like for the church to do everything, but we are not the Lord. Jesus is Lord. He can do everything,

And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him” (Matthew 17.14–16). 

The church tries to do its best, and sometimes the church has no idea what to do or what it can do, but none of those problems exist with the Lord. Yes, be an active member of His body, the church, but remember that the body of Christ is composed of people, just like us.
