01.31.2015 Old Testament: Exo 25.31
To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 25–26 on January 31, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
For light in the tabernacle, and later for the temple, the Lord told Moses that He wanted a lampstand made,
“You shall also make a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand shall be of hammered work. Its shaft, its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and flowers shall be of one piece” (Exodus 25.31).
Like the robe of Jesus, the lampstand would be one of piece. The man and his workers whom the Lord wanted to do all this, had to use great skill in taking the gold and hammering it out into the shape the Lord wanted.
They did not make the lampstand of wood or some other material and then overlay with gold, no, they made it of solid gold, making it both beautiful and heavy!
