02.01.2015 New Testament: Matt 21.34
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 21.23–46 on February 1, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
Jesus spoke a parable of a landowner who planted a vineyard, and then made all the other provisions that the workers, to whom he leased out the vineyard, would need to harvest and press the grapes for wine. Then the landowner wanted the fruit,
“Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit” (Matthew 21.34).
The servants represent the prophets of Israel, and the vinedressers did not receive them well, but beat them, killed them, and stoned others.
People forget why God has blessed them with anything. Thus, when He wants an accounting of it, they become angry.
Every good thing you have, God gave you. Praise Him for it. Serve others with it.
